How to do E-Shram Card Registration Online?

In August 2021, the Ministry of Labor and Employment, Government of India introduced the E-shram card scheme aimed at providing support to unorganized sector workers and laborers. Upon registration for the scheme, individuals will receive an E Shram Card with a 12-digit Unique Identification Number (UAN), which will be the first-ever national database of unorganized workers, including gig and platform workers, migrant workers, and construction workers.

Apart from the E-shram card, registered members will have access to a variety of benefits under the Shramik Yojana and social security programs implemented by the government. While the Ministry of Labor & Employment has various welfare schemes for eligible citizens, those who are already taking advantage of them cannot apply for a Shramik Card. Further, it is not necessary to renew the E-shram card, but individuals must regularly update their details, such as their mobile number and current address, to keep their account active. They must update their account at least once a year.
