How to apply for FIEO Registration Online?

Overview of FIEO Registration

FIEO expands to the Federation of Indian Export Organizations. It is an organization working actively for export promotion in India and to extend and enhance India's market worldwide. The key function of the organization is to promote international trade and is responsible for representing and assisting entrepreneurs and exporters in a foreign market. The FIEO is an active partner for the Government of India in promoting India’s exports and works as a guide for all the businessmen who are involved in the export-import market. Exporters and entrepreneurs from India can rely on FIEO to help them get their products global exposure and represent their interests.

FIEO Registration is the same as RCMC Registration. Any individual, who wants to avail of different benefits from FIEO but does not go for an RCMC (Registration cum Membership Certificate) certificate, has the option to still register as an individual exporter. But the Foreign Trade Policy says that an exporter is required to get a Registration-cum-Membership Certificate (RCMC) for availing various benefits under the Policy such as global exposure, thorough guidance on key areas of global trade such as Foreign Trade Policy (FTP), and various concessions to MSMEs.

Applying Procedure for FIEO Registration

An applicant has to declare his main line of business in the application made to the Export Promotion Council relating to that line of business. There are 28 Export promotion councils and 9 commodities boards in India. Each of the Export Promotion Councils and commodities boards in India categorizes itself according to the type of products, hence when applying for RCMC, an exporter has to declare the mainstream business. The applicants who fall under any EPC have to apply to respective organizations for RCMC. They are also eligible to function as Registering Authorities which are notified by DGFT in this regard to issue RCMC to its members

Further, if the person does not belong to any mentioned export promotion council, or if the stream of business is yet to be confirmed, then the person can directly apply for the certificate at FIEO (Federation of Indian Exporters Organization) which is is the Apex Body controlling all the Export Promotion Councils, Commodity Boards, and Export Development Authorities. Here we’re only concerned about the registration procedure to FIEO.
